First Indy IV photo of Harrison Ford!

This photo was taken by Steven Spielberg on the set of Indy IV

… and you can check out the full-sized version on display by our good friends over at the official Indiana Jones website by clicking on the picture above.

(Harrison will turn 65 while they’re filming the movie, on July 13. And he still looks great. If he’s willing to keep making these movies when he’s 80, I’ll be there.)

(And I’d say that I hope I’m in that kind of shape when I’m 65, but I’m 31 and I’m not in that kind of shape now.)

(Maybe someday.)

(Anyway.)

I still can’t believe they’re making this! But seeing this photo makes it feel infinitely more real.

We’ll all believe it together to the tune of nachos and Cokes on May 22, 2008!

(But no chilled monkey brains, please.)

(And no computer effects, please. Do it old-school. One last time.)

Shia LaBeouf talks Indy IV!

Check out this great video of Shia LaBeouf talking about his role in Indy IV:

What a lucky kid. He’s in Transformers (which comes out in a couple of weeks) and now he’s making an Indiana Jones movie with Harrison Ford.

But the great thing about it is that he realizes how lucky he is/awesome it is. The video is a lot of fun. He talks a lot about watching movies with his dad, which is something I can very well relate to.

He rambles a little, but if I was in an Indiana Jones movie I’d be rambling a LOT.

Congratulations, man. I know you’ll make us proud.

Jim Broadbent joins the cast of Indy IV!

Variety is reporting that Oscar-winning actor Jim Broadbent has joined the cast of next summer’s fourth installment of the Indiana Jones series.

He’ll be playing a Yale professor.

You can check out Broadbent’s credits here. Most viewers will recognize him as Bridget Jones’s dad from the Bridget Jones movies — Bridget Jones … Indiana Jones … interesting — and from his roles in Gangs of New York (as Boss Tweed!) and Moulin Rouge.

He joins Harrison Ford, Shia LaBeouf (rumored to be playing Indy’s son), Ray Winstone (rumored to be playing Indy’s sidekick), Cate Blanchett (rumored to be playing the villain, which is infinitely sexy), John Hurt (rumored to be playing Albert Einstein) and hopefully, possibly, maybe Karen Allen (who’d be reprising her role as Marion Ravenwood from Raiders of the Lost Ark).

Sean Connery has confirmed that he will not be returning as Dr. Henry Jones, Sr.

Having just watched Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade last night, that makes me very sad.

Oh, well.

Indiana Jones will use a bad Scottish accent to ask the theater manager near you to see the tapestries — and then punch him in the face! — on May 22, 2008!
