Three new Dark Knight posters and the official synopsis!

More commentary later, but my buddy Jett over at Batman on Film has two new Dark Knight posters that will rock your socks off.

Here they are:

International poster featuring Batman

So that’s the view from the Wayne penthouse when you’re Batman.

And this one:

Inernational poster featuring The Joker

Awesome. I need these posters in my life.

And here’s another:

Domestic poster featuring The Joker

Wicked!

And here’s the official synopsis from Warner Bros.:

THE DARK KNIGHT
July 18
(Warner Bros. Pictures / Legendary Pictures)

Director: Christopher Nolan
Writers: Screenplay by Jonathan Nolan and Christopher Nolan, story by Christopher Nolan & David S. Goyer

Christian Bale once again embodies the man behind the mask in “The Dark Knight.” The film reunites Bale with director Christopher Nolan and takes Batman across the world in his quest to fight a growing criminal threat. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman has been making headway against local crime…until a rising criminal mastermind known as The Joker (Heath Ledger) unleashes a fresh reign of chaos across Gotham City. To stop this devious new menace–Batman’s most personal and vicious enemy yet–he will have to use every high-tech weapon in his arsenal and confront everything he believes.

More commentary later. I’m at work, and if I get fired I won’t be able to afford seeing this movie 37 times in July.

Bring Bourne home

I don’t have to tell you how awesome the Bourne movies are, but here you go in case you’re still trying to figure it out:

Movie Review: The Bourne Identity

Movie Review: The Bourne Supremacy

Movie Review: The Bourne Ultimatum

The Bourne Ultimatum came out on DVD today, and I grabbed The Jason Bourne Collection box set. It’s great. It’s got all three movies, tons of bonus footage and a GIANT PASSPORT:

That’s no fancy camera angle. That’s actual size. That passport really is as big as my head.

At first I thought maybe they made it that big so nobody would actually try to use it to get out of the country, but then I realized it’s the size it is because there’s a DVD in it.

And because somebody would probably have tried to use it to get out of the country.

But it really does have Jason Bourne’s photo and info in it, along with lots of stamps for all the countries he’s kicked people’s asses in.

The box is really cool. It looks like a safe deposit box, and it’s got a magnetic closure which is really nice.

The level of excellence on display in these films is staggering; it’s one of the best and most consistently satisfying trilogies in film history.
